Freeform crochet with Prudence Mapstone

On the weekend our members enjoyed an inspiring workshop with Prudence Mapstone.

Prudence has kindly loaned a collaborated yarn bombing work to our project. Thanks Prudence.

We learned many new stitches, layout design and how to fit and sew scrumbles together. Even though it was hot we kept crocheting and had lots of fun.

The trees in Mudgeeraba are going to look wonderful.

Workshops at camp

At the Gold Coast & Hinterland’s Spinners & Weavers annual camp many workshops were held for the campers. We all learned new skills and had lots of laughs. Of course we all took homeĀ  the completed new crafts we made (except for my art yarn, still practicing).

The workshop we held were lichen dying, solar dying, cobweb felt, spindle spinning, freeform crochet, scarf in a tube, needle felt mushrooms, samplett loom weaving, tunisian crochet, art yarn and fibre sandwich. What a busy schedule!
