Our members have been busy in the rainy weather, creating scarves for the
International Scarf Exchange. Beautifully handspun then crocheted or knitted. Looking good ladies.
Some of our members are having a stall at this market on Sunday 19 November. Gold Coast Potters 171 Ashmore Road, Benowa
All handcrafted original items, felted scarves, knitted and crocheted items, handmade jewellry and Christmas decorations.
It is a great market with live music, coffee, food and Christmas goodies.
Today at our weekly crafty fix, there was a lot going on! How unusual? Ha !!!
People were warping up looms for our hands on display at this weekends Gold Coast Show, make sure you visit the craft pavilion to see our awesome creative entries.
Other members were busy getting sock yarn, balled, hanked or tied up in knots for dying. I was quietly trying to spin when all of a sudden out of the hands of the ladies next to me, their sock yarn was all caught up in my spinning wheel, all tangled in the bobbin and caught in the band. I know I need help with my spinning, but really! It happened not once but twice, what are the odds? The culprits shall remain nameless.
Anyway the sock yarn was dyed in lovely colour gradients, well done. Be careful I may have to sabotage your knitting!
Here are the photos from the fashion parade held at our Spinners camp. All the fabulous garments handmade made by creative craft women attending the event.
We have been knitting and crocheting all year, now all the Mudgeeraba community can enjoy the colourful trees at the Mudgeeraba Village Green
Tree bombed for the D’Arcy Doyle Art Awards, have a look at the great paintings in the hall.
As we were decorating the trees many people stopped and chatted to us and admired our tree bombing, they thought it was a fantastic project. Everyone was smiling and taking photos as they walked thru the park.
Go down there and have a look and visit the D’Arcy Doyle Art Show.
